Might be time to re-schedule that Hottest 100 barbecue. The ever efficient abc.net.au website, in posting a promotion for next month’s Triple J magazine, also leaked the details of the forthcoming Australia Day countdown that soundtracks thousands of bogan barbecues around the country, from Carnegie to Coorparoo, Bondi to Balga.
In the best music biz ‘shooting self in foot’ incident so far this year, betting has now been suspended on the countdown, and no doubt someone down at ABC HQ is going to be bent over Richard Kingsmill’s knee and spanked very soundly.
