A Spiderbait Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, heading out on their first extensive national tour of the country in a decade.

The Australian rock veterans will be hitting the road this August, checking in to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, in a series of headline shows presented by Secret Sounds.

Following on from appearances at some of the nation’s most respected music festivals last year, including Meredith and Queenscliff Music Festival, Janet English, Damian Whitty, and Kram now take their full catalogue of seven albums to capital cities, some getting their first taste of the band’s latest release, 2013’s Spiderbait

Released in 2013 and produced by François Tetaz (Goyte/ Architecture in Helsinki), their self-titled seventh album is classic Spiderbait, a perfect mix of sweet sounds, double kick and gritty ball busting riffs. A “solid comeback record a few surprises thrown in,” as our Tone Deaf reviewer described it, featuring singles ‘It’s Beautiful’, ‘Straight Through The Sun’, and new cut ‘Miss The Boat’.

Janet, Whitt and Kram have always marched to the beat of their own drum. From their humble beginnings belting out tunes in the tractor shed on Janet’s family farm to the heady heights of ARIA #1 songs and topping Triple J’s Hottest 100, Spiderbait has remained unique and true.

They have sold over half a million records. They’ve released Top 10 and double platinum selling albums and numerous multi-platinum selling singles. They’ve won multiple ARIA Awards. They’ve played Splendour, Big Day Out, Meredith, Falls Festival and many more.

One of Australia’s most celebrated live acts, Spiderbait has continued to own the stages of Australia’s biggest festivals, from the 90s right through to the present. They will play the sold out Splendour In The Grass festival before they hit the road in August.

Spiderbait is Australian rock’n’roll royalty! Don’t miss your chance to see them live when they tour Australia this August!
