Spender Announces Australian Tour 2014, Signs With 123 Agency

Melbourne music maverick and the second ‘Most Promising Artist of 2013‘, Spender, has joined the roster of 123 Agency, coinciding with the announcement of the producer and multi-instrumentalist’s first national headline tour. The June tour is to commemorate the release of Spender’s first new material since his Modern Pest EP, in ‘Lake’, a dramatic dose of experimental pop storytelling continuing his well-written, better-executed form. Following a year of sold-out national supports with Mama Kin, Clare Bowditch, a standout performance BIGSOUND slot, Spender is set to play Dark Mofo’s Winter Feast before embarking on his live trek across the East Coast. Caitlin Park Australian Album Tour 2014 Announced


We’ve already shared our love for The Sleeper, the second album by Caitlin Park that sees her taking “several strides forward in developing her ambient, feel-good soundscapes; impressively written, arranged and produced.” Now the Sydney songstress is heading off for an East Coast tour to celebrate the release of her sophomore LP. The Sleeper Tour will see Park and her band playing dates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Seekae Confirm Album Details, Australian Tour 2014 Dates


We’ve been patiently awaiting the details of Seekae’s third album since the Sydney-born, Lonon-baced electronic group dropped ‘Another’ late last year, now our patience has been rewarded. Two years in the making, The Worry, is touted as Seekae’s most expansive yet intimate work to date as percussionist Alex Cameron steps forward as singer for the first time. Out 13th June via Future Classic, Seekae have released another taste of The Worry in ‘Test & Recognise’ (listen below) while confirming their first 2014 live shows at home after touring Europe, Japan, and North America. Sydney beatmaker Jonti will be opening for Seekae’s tour, the perfect accompaniment for their signature blend of electro-pop, IDM, post-dubstep and ambient house. Tickets on sale now.

Thelma Plum Drops New Single, Announces Tour Dates


Having staked her songwriting claim and won the NIMA Unearthed award with her acoustic-led debut EP Rosie, Thelma Plum is putting down the acoustic guitar and moved towards new musical landscapes. The first taste of Plum’s new direction comes in ‘How Much Does Your Love Cost? (listen below). It’s the first single off her follow-up EP Monster, featuring the likes of mixer Eric J Dobowsky (Chet Faker/Flight Facilities) and beat-maker M-Phazes (Kimbra, Eminem) behind the decks, helping sculpt a new sound around Plum’s warm colloquial purr. Her upcoming three-date run will see her playing with a full band onstage.

Fractures Announces Debut EP, Tour Dates


The lush, haunting tunes of Melbourne multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer Mark Zito, better known as Fractures has already cast quite the spell on the Australian music world and now he’s locked in the date for the release of his anticipated self-titled debut EP. Led by new lead single ‘Won’t Win’ (listen below), Fractures is out on 4th July via Create/Control just ahead of Fractures bringing their dark, alluring production and sumptuous vocals to Splendour In The Grass. Following the festival slot, Fractures will play two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney to launch his new 7-track release. Don’t miss out.

Jen Cloher Announces Only 2014 Tour Dates, New Track


After delivering one of the best local releases of 2013, In Blood Memory, Jen Cloher has announced her only headline shows for 2014 along with the release of a brand track, a cover of The Loved Ones’ ‘Sad Dark Eyes’ with engineer Burke Reid (The Drones, The Mess Hall). Following a year that saw her playing 40 live dates as part of Dyson, Stringer, & Cloher, earning an AMP nomination, and bringing her I Manage My Music workshop series across the country, Cloher’s one-off 2014 tour will feature two full-band dates and two rare solo shows.

Tin Sparrow Single Launch Dates


Sydney’s Tin Sparrow have returned after a writing sabbatical and a lineup re-shuffle with a brand new single ‘Echoes In The Dark’ (listen below), taken from their forthcoming third EP, Shoelace Ring, produced in a farmhouse in regional Victoria with Dann Hume (Evermore). Self-described as sounding like “Arcade Fire circa The Suburbs“, Tin Sparrow’s new material mixes straight ahead rhythms against frontman Matt Amery’s vocal prowess to deliver some very listenable guitar rock. The band play three dates, beginning this weekend, to launch their new single this coming June.
