At the end of last week, we revealed the richest Aussie musician under the age of 40 the year 2014. In a similar, albeit much wealthier vein, the top-10 earning women in music for this year has been unveiled, the results a lot more surprising than one would initially think.

Courtesy of the guys at Forbes magazine, the highest earner by a landslide is none other than Queen B herself, Beyoncé.

Having absolutely monetarily smashed 2014, mostly thanks to a massive tour, Mrs. Carter raked in a very cool $USD115 million. That’s of course not forgetting her surprise album of December last year, which effortlessly soared to the top of high-selling charts this year.

One would obviously expect Tone Deaf office favourite Taylor Swift would be somewhere near the top, what with such feats as scoring #1 on Canadian charts for releasing 8-second tracks, Swift too has had her best earnings year of $64 million, and that’s not including the vast amount of dollars she will see thanks to her very recently released record, 1989.

Arriving at #3 is P!nk, who is still pulling in a comfortable $52 million thanks to her tireless touring which has said to have generated $1 million per concert. A just amount considering how much the songstress hits the open road and the energetic live performances she delivers day in, day out.

Rounding out the remainder of this lucrative bunch are typical mainstay popstars including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus whilst more seasoned veterans Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears prove they’ve still got it too.

Interestingly enough, there is zero mention of Madonna, who was last year’s highest paid musician in accordance to Forbes. Same too for Shania Twain and Alicia Keys whilst the highest paid Australian musician of 2014 is only just edged out of this top 20, having made $AUD20 million compared to Britney’s $USD20 million.

We’d like to give an honourable shout-out to our own Iggy Azalea who broke records on the US Billboard Charts, Nicki Minaj who broke the internet with her ‘Anaconda’ music video (which deserves all the wealth in the world) and Paris Hilton who broke our brains as she’s “killing it” at the moment earning a disgusting amount per DJ set.
