Ladies and gentlemen, at long last our favourite slack-rock songstress Courtney Barnett has announced her new record Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, and most importantly, she’s dropped a brand new track from the forthcoming release.

‘Pedestrian At Best’ sonically sees Barnett channel her obvious influence of Kim Deal, churning up the distortion to produce a much heavier, sped-up ’90s alt-rock sound, whilst her signature Aussie ocker vocals race against time as she spits out classic flowing Barnettisms, “underworked and oversexed I must express my disinterest, the rats are back in my head, what would Freud have said?” before crashing into the chorus”I think you’re a joke, but I don’t think you’re very funny“.

There’s a hilarious music vid to accompany the release of the new track, and for those who loved Avant Gardener‘, we reckon this clip is even better.
