In case you missed it, which we’re sorry if you did, Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker held an “Asking Me Anything” (AMA) on Reddit today, which produced a whole heap of interesting tidbits about the artist, including a fresh song off the band’s forthcoming album, Currents.

The new gem is entitled ‘Disciples’ which follows the fresh format of pop-funk that appeared on previously released song, ‘‘Cause I’m A Man‘, with only hints of that warm psychedelica we’ve grown accustomed too.

Interestingly, Parker’s dreamy, fading, elongated vocals are rather reminiscent of Real Estate and their major 2014 single, ‘Talking Backwards‘, creating a similar kind of immersive experience.

Sadly, ‘Disciples’ cruelly turns for just under 2:00 minutes, which means you’re going to be mashing the repeat button, hard.

There’s no release date set for Tame Impala’s third record, Parker very slightly alluded to the idea that it could be a surprise drop at any time when speaking with Triple J, however don’t hold your breath.

Until that wonderful day is upon us, we suggest you enjoy the cracking new song right here:
