AC/DC recently kicked off their latest world tour in support of new album Rock or Bust and are set to hit their homeland this November for massive stadium shows around the country. Rumours are rife about what fans can expect and one gaining momentum is who Acca Dacca have tapped to support them.

According to Triple M‘s trusted anonymous music industry source Supergrass, the hard rock veterans are looking to fork over “a mountain of cash” to get either Powderfinger, Silverchair, or Jet to reunite and join them for their eagerly anticipated November tour.

“Apparently they’ve approached Powderfinger, Silverchair and Jet with a mountain of cash to do this, and they actually believe they’re a real chance of pulling it off,” Supergrass told Triple M, adding that the band’s confidence in securing one of the biggest bands in Australian music motivated the recent addition of new shows to the tour.

None of the bands that AC/DC are reportedly eyeing to play support have stepped on a stage together since 2010, coincidentally the last time that AC/DC played live, when they were supported by Wolfmother and Calling All Cars, as they promoted their 14th album, Black Ice.

While we’re hoping Triple M’s source has his facts straight, it’s important to note that members from each of the bands haven’t exactly been laying low hoping for a union since their respective dissolutions. Bernard Fanning has been enjoying a successful solo career, with Daniel Johns recently following suit.
