Not that the Splendour In The Grass 2015 lineup needed the help or anything, but Triple J Unearthed have just gone ahead and thrown two more utterly awesome bands into the mix – rising Perth favourites Tired Lion and Byron Bay’s own Skegss.

As Triple J reports, having listened to all the killer tracks that were in contention for the two Triple J Unearthed spots at Splendour In The Grass — one national and one for a Byron Bay local — the judges finally settled on who to chuck on stage alongside Blur, Mark Ronson, and more.

Tired Lion have been generating serious hometown buzz for some time and they recently wowed us with their incredible alt-rock mashup of a Like A Version, which saw them combining Violent Soho’s ‘Saramona Said’ with a Smashing Pumpkins classic.

Meanwhile, Byron Bay trio Skegss have been busy diligently gigging, even taking their singular jangle punk sound overseas for packed-out performances in San Diego, Brooklyn, and New York. They were even invited to the Big Apple to record their debut EP.

These two now join a prestigious raft of previous winners, many of whom have gone on to national and international success, including Airling, Kingswood, and Art vs. Science. Readers can check out the full Splendour In The Grass 2015 lineup below.
