Strokes axe man Albert Hammond Jr may have just joined the ever-expanding list of artists to leak their spot on the Laneway Festival 2016 lineup, recently revealing plans to tour Australia around Laneway time next year.

Hammond Jr is currently promoting his third solo album, Momentary Masters, and speaking to the Herald Sun, he revealed he has plans to bring the album Down Under next February, putting him in the draw for a Laneway spot.

The guitarist was slated to make his way over back in 2008 for an Australian tour and an appearance at that year’s Splendour In The Grass festival, but was eventually forced to cancel all Australian appearances due to illness.

If Hammond Jr has indeed been tapped for a Laneway spot, it would make him the third act to leak his spot. Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke and Candian duo Purity Ring have both pretty much confirmed they would making it to Laneway in 2016.

The Laneway 2016 lineup is already looking pretty healthy, which is no small feat. Last year’s mega-bill features performances from the likes of Banks, FKA twigs, Flying Lotus, Courtney Barnett, Jon Hopkins, and many more.
