Having confirmed their return back in March, following a very successful inaugural year, the organisers of UNIFY Gathering 2016 have now unveiled the first act set to appear on next year’s lineup and it’s none other than Aussie favourites In Hearts Wake.

The Byron Bay metalcore legends, who are still running on the mammoth momentum generated by their latest album, Skydancer, confirmed their spot during a visit to triple j this morning, where they recorded a cover of Parkway Drive’s ‘Vice Grip’ for Like A Version.

In addition to “the cream of the crop” of Australian bands, organisers have managed to find space for three international acts. They’re even promising that the event’s second instalment will top their inaugural event, with only three repeat acts, all of whom have new albums.

The full lineup is set to drop on 25th September. A standard ticket will cost you $149 + bf, which is a bit of a jump on the 2015 ticket price, but organisers are assuring punters it’s a “necessary adjustment” to make 2016 even better.

“The lineup, the site layout and the amenities will be a considerable step up this time around, while still retaining everything you loved about Year One. Trust us, it’s going to be worth every cent for what we have programmed!” organisers write.

UNIFY Gathering enjoyed an extremely successful launch earlier this year, with a stacked lineup featuring some of Australia’s biggest names in heavy music, including The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake, Deez Nuts, Thy Art Is Murder, and Northlane.
