Australia’s first ever fan-funded heavy music festival, Legion, has just added three new names to its ever-expanding lineup, which will hopefully give fans who haven’t yet donated to the festival’s crowdfunding campaign some incentive to do so.

Joining a lineup that already features the likes of Devil You Know, Darkest Hour, Battlecross, and Caligula’s Horse are California metal outfit DevilDriver, Canadian industrial veterans Front Line Assembly, and homegrown metal favourites Aversions Crown.

Of course, this is just the start of what organiser John Sankey, who also plays drums in Devil You Know, promises will be a jam-packed lineup of more than 20 local and international bands, including headliners who are yet to be named.

The festival is fully crowd funded, with a pledge of $125 guaranteeing admission to 2016 Legion Music Fest as well as pre-sale ticket allocation for every future Legion festival (organisers are hoping to make it a five-state festival by next year).

At the time of writing, the Legion Pozible campaign has managed to raise $128,692, with 19 days left in the campaign. However, organisers have set an ambitious target for themselves – they need to raise $3 million of the festival will not go ahead.
