It seems whenever a popular tour is announced, the scourge of scalping inevitably rears its ugly head to remind us all of why we can’t have nice things. Violent Soho have now experienced this first hand and they’re not standing for it.

The band recently announced a massive tour in support of their eagerly anticipated new album, WACO, which will see them hitting up capital cities around the country with brothers-in-arms DZ Deathrays and Dune Rats.

Their Melbourne show managed to sell out in just 10 minutes, forcing the band to add another date and it was the same story in Brisbane. At the time of writing, all dates beside Adelaide and Perth have sold out, leading some fans to consider the secondary market.

“It’s come to our attention today that some selfish individuals out there are trying to scalp tickets to the WACO tour for upwards of $200 each,” Violent Soho wrote on Facebook. “We just wanted to address this publicly as a band and tell those people to kindly Fuck Off.”

Indeed, a quick search of eBay yields results for tickets being sold well above their original sale price. In their fiery missive, the band urge fans not to buy scalped tickets and reveal they’re considering adding more shows to the tour.

“We as a band always try to keep our ticket prices as cheap as possible and the WACO tour is no exception,” the band continued. “We were able to pull together what we think is an amazing lineup with our friends DZ Deathrays & DUNE RATS but still keep it affordable for you guys, the fans.”

“So when these selfish pricks go online at 9am and buy tickets just to resell them later at an inflated price, preventing real fans from being able to get tickets, it’s not only extremely offensive to us it devalues everything we as a band are trying to do.”

“Please SHARE this with your friends and make sure none of you pay more than you should to see our band on this tour. We’re currently looking into adding more shows and even if you miss out, we promise you will have another chance to see us play in the future.”

“Do not support these selfish motherfuckers. Love, Violent Soho,” the band signed off. Violent Soho’s WACO national tour with DZ Deathrays and Dune Rats is set to kick off this May. Check the Violent Soho website for more details.
