Melbourne punk trio Camp Cope had their first rehearsal together 11 months ago. This week, their self-titled debut album entered the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 36 and the Australian Albums Chart at No. 9, an unprecedented feat.

The band, comprised of Georgia Maq (vocals/guitar), Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich (bass), and Sarah Thompson (drums), may have only formed last year, but they’ve racked up a considerable resume of support slots and accolades.

In addition to being signed by Melbourne’s premiere house of punk, Poison City Records, they’ve opened for the likes of Waxahatchee, Jeff Rostenstock, and Modern Baseball, and even appeared on the front page of Reddit.

They’ve also garnered major support from the likes of triple j and community stations around the country. Anything else? Oh yeah, they sold out their Melbourne album launch show at the John Curtin a month in advance.

Again, we must stress, they’ve only been around for a year. Check out their single ‘Lost: Season One’ below or head on over to the official Poison City Records website to get your hands on Camp Cope’s debut now.
