King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have been teasing something for the last couple of weeks on their official Facebook page, sharing grainy black and red images seemingly pulled from a game on the much-maligned Nintendo Virtual Boy.
But it’s just the latest instalment in their ongoing series of music videos for new album Nonagon Infinity, which will eventually culminate in a full album movie a la Beyonce and Lemonade, only way trippier.
Having unveiled the excerpts for ‘Gamma Knife‘ and ‘People-Vultures‘, the band have now shared the absolutely mind-bending music video for ‘Robot Stop’, the lead track on the album, and it’s even more psychedelic than the band’s previous work.
Created by Jason Galea, the band’s in-house artist who creates all of their brain-melting artwork and graphics, the ‘Robot Stop’ video is a five-and-a-half minute roller coaster ride through a pixelated nightmare-scape you’ll want to play again and again.
In the meantime, we’ll just have to keep waiting for the full Nonagon Infinity album movie, which the band say is coming in “late 2016”. You know, before the band get to work on the four albums they plan on releasing in 2017.
