This morning brought the exciting news that Neil Young, one of the most iconic and respected musicians in the genres of rock and roll and folk, would be touching down in Australia next year for Byron Bay Bluesfest 2016.

Now Frontier Touring have announced Young and his band, Promise of the Real, will be playing headline shows in Australia and New Zealand. These performances will mark Young’s first shows Down Under in four years.

Dates, venues, and ticket details are said to be on their way “soon” and a Facebook update on the Frontier Touring Facebook page seems to point to the 12th October, so make sure you’re keeping an eye out around then.

According to the statement, Young will be performing headline dates in both countries, including indoor arenas and special outdoor shows. No doubt this is something fans of Young or rock and roll enthusiasts of all stripes won’t want to miss.
