Rising indie folk star Josh Cashman wrapped up a run of national shows recently, which included a handful of dates with none other than busker-turned-phenomenon Tash Sultana.

Keen to see what happens on the road, we asked Josh to send us through a few snapshots from the gigs, including a bit of mischief with Tash and some great shots onstage at various festivals across the country. Remember, “hydration is important”!

If you haven’t had a chance to see Josh in action yet, he’s about to launch his new single ‘Wishful Imagery’, with Josh hitting up Melbourne’s Grace Darling Hotel tomorrow night, followed by Sydney’s Brighton Up Bar next week.

Josh Cashman On Tour With Tash Sultana

“‘The Terrible Two take on WA’ – Tash Sultana and I started off the national tour by playing 2 x sold out shows at Mojo’s in Fremantle, WA. It was the perfect start to the tour. So lucky I get to go on the road with one of my best mates. Here we are trying our hardest to look cool.”

“After the two shows in Fremantle, I flew home and drove my Jeep straight down the Great Ocean Road to play at Birregurra Music & Arts Festival with my band. The sun was out and as you can see I was enjoying myself!” Photo by Lucinda Goodwin Photography

“Coffee number 7 of 200 in the past few weeks. When we’re on tour, it’s always go, go, go! When there’s a moment of downtime, I head straight for a caffeine fix! I also like to take as many photos of I can, of all the interesting places I go, to solidify those memories. Film-making and surfing are other passions of mine, when I’m not on the road!”

“A nice moment caught at Mojo’s Bar in Fremantle. That show was an eye-opener for me, you could hear a pin drop in certain moments of my set! Makes me nervous to think about it now, but at the time I was loving it! Such a cool experience to have on the other side of the country!” Photo by Castaway Photography

“One of my favourite shots of the tour so far – playing to a sold-out Uni Bar in Adelaide. It has to be one of my favourite show of the tour so far. There’s 600 people all vibing out together to my creations and then Tash’s. I’m always blown away when the crowd has insane energy, and at the same time really listens during my sets. Amazing feeling, worth a cheers!” Photo by Kay Cann Photography

“I didn’t actually realise that the backdrop at Birregurra Music & Arts Festival was this dope until I saw this photo! I always love the small, intimate shows, but there’s something so memorable about performing at festivals. Pretty stoked I was able to play with my band in front of a great audience – on a pretty beautiful day!” Photo by Lucinda Goodwin Photography

“It’s been such a humbling experience to join Tash on her sold-out tour. So cool that people take time out of their day to come watch us play! We decided to spend 3 hours at Uni Bar getting the sound just right. That’s me kicking back, getting lost in the moment while listening to Tash get it done!”

“My favourite part of it all is the banter and laughs I get to share with this amazing artist I’m lucky enough to call my friend. We find ourselves laughing more than we speak! I think I could count the ‘serious’ moments on one hand and the rest of it all is just fun & games! There’s no better feeling than having a serious gut laugh so much that it hurts. This was taken just 30 seconds before I went on stage. Hydration is important!”
