Exciting news to start the day as Ryan Adams announces he’ll be heading to Australia and New Zealand for a run of shows in support of his upcoming album, Prisoner.

The shows are set to be the biggest he’s ever played in our country, taking him to the bigger stages of Brisbane’s Tivoli, Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion – befitting a bloke who’s about to drop his 16th studio LP.

It’s also great news for the talented Sydney trio Middle Kids, who have already kicked off 2017 by booking a U.S. tour that includes support slots for Cold War Kids and showcases at South By Southwest. Definitely worth getting down early to catch this mob.

Tickets go on sale Feb 16 at 11am (although Frontier Touring members can get in from the 14th here), with the album dropping the following day via PAX-AM/EMI. Written and recorded by Ryan over the past couple of years, some of the tracks have already been heard in a live setting, but expect a lot more of them to get a run when he rolls into town in May.

No word, however, on whether or not that cat of his will also be making an appearance.
