After 22 years together English Metal band Cradle Of Filth have released their 10th studio album and it does not disappoint.
The Manticore And Other Horrors, delivers the band’s latest work in the form of some seriously bone crushing rock that sounds like the soundtrack to your worst nightmares.
The album tells stories of history, beasts, and demons that enrapture your imagination and spiral you into a world far from here.
From the intoductary instrumental piece it immediately sounds like the typical opening credits music of an old school horror movie, and sets the scene for the rest of the album.
Each track on the album paints a different picture and tells a different story that really keeps the listener engaged in the experience as the hard pounding quick beat of the double kick drums and driving guitar riffs mixed with some sweet metal licks ravage the ears.
The lyrics being sung or at times screamed, will entice the mind into a horrible fantasy sending chills down one’s spine.
The aggressive assault of hardcore metal rages through every track and lead singer Dani Filth’s vocals reach incredible highs and shows impressive range.
With orchestral pieces and organs, the LP has a little bit of everything.
The album closes in the same manner as it opened with another instrumental piece bringing a fitting end to what is an absolute ball tearing album.
