Kerplunk … gnnrrrr, bam thwok? What’s that you say? Does that look like the Tone Deaf Editorial team are typing, still drunk after a night on the turps? No, no it’s not. It’s the sound you hear when you flog a dead horse that little bit harder. You see, this March is the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix popping his clogs and his estate have ‘unearthed’ some ‘new’ old recordings for release. Recorded in sessions at London’s Olympic Studios and New York’s Record Plant in 1969, they feature the last sessions with the original Jimi Hendrix Experience and bassist Billy Cox. Recorded on four track, Valleys of Neptune is released on March 9th, along with – surprise, surprise – digitally re-mastered versions of the Hendrix back catalogue.
