Phrazes for the Young might be the title for Julian Casablancas’ first solo record but it seem he’s going through that phase of the young that involves throwing tanties and chucking the toys out of his cot.  See, his critically acclaimed solo album has kinda stiffed and he’s taken to blaming RCA records and Cult records who co-released it.

Speaking to the New York magazine he said of RCA ‘they’re not the label I signed with. The people change all the time. They’re nice, they’re cool, but honestly they don’t do shit.’  And as for Cult records’ promotion strategy: ‘You have all these dreams. I still like the plan, but it was executed terribly.

Awww, diddums Jules. It’s hard to take a whinge like this seriously when you see, Cult Records is Jules’ own label which he set up to release the record. We’d take you more seriously if you just said ‘I’m a musician and hopeless at PR’.
