The Doobie Brothers Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, and with the legendary group hitting Australia as part of the Bluesfest 2014 lineup and for the Deni Blues & Roots Festival, Chugg Entertainment now presents an accompanying national tour.

A touch of blues, plus a lot of soul and rock and roll equal the nostalgic sound of California rock band The Doobie Brothers, who’ll be takin’ it to the streets in Australia this coming Easter.

One of the enduring worldwide favourites of the 1970s, The Doobie Brothers, will bring their celebrated catalogue of rock music back to our shores this Easter for a handful of headline shows.

The tour begins in Fremantle at the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival on Sunday 13th April, continuing on Wednesday 16th April at Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre, Byron Bay’s Bluesfest on Friday 18th April, Deni Blues & Roots Festival on Sunday 20th April, Tuesday 22nd April at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne and wrapping up at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday 23rd April.

As one of the most popular California pop/rock bands of the ’70s, The Doobie Brothers evolved from a mellow, post-hippie boogie band to a slick, soul-inflected pop outfit by the end of the decade. Extolling smart pop hooks and warm, soulful vocals, along the way, the group racked up a string of gold and platinum albums, along with a number of radio hits like ‘Listen to the Music’, ‘Black Water’, ‘Long Train Runnin’, ‘Takin’ It To The Streets’ and ‘China Grove’, lacing their country-rock stylings with an enjoyable dash of funk.

With founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, and 30 year-plus veteran John McFee, the Doobies will be performing as an eight-piece band including Tony Pia, Ed Toth, John Cowan, Marc Russo and Guy Allison.

There’s no disputing the unparalleled legacy of The Doobie Brothers. These shows are not to be missed.
