After much eager anticipation, Daniel Johns recently unveiled his first solo single and now the Australian music veteran has unveiled his video for ‘Aerial Love’. Directed by Lorin Askill (Flume & Chet Faker, Phoenix, and Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ editor), the clip is an epic construction of eye-watering visuals and skilfully replicates the song’s weightless, timeless, slyly carnal feel.

“The dunes actually looked spectacular but it was all pretty intense,” said Daniel of the shoot, which took place on the Stockton Dunes just outside of Newcastle. “The winds were too strong in the first 24 hours though so they couldn’t film anything. We finally started shooting on the second day but it was still 35 degrees in the shade and there were lots of sandstorms.”

“It was like we were filming one of those desert scenes from Star Wars! I felt like I needed a droid,” he added. The clip takes fans on a mesmerising journey through a sweeping, exotic landscape, depicting Daniel walking alone through a spectacular desert. Meanwhile, floating, diving, and twisting shots of hedonistic youths among the dunes are interspered throughout.
