With the almighty Record Store Day only a couple of days away, vinyl retailers around the globe are doing some crazy things for the 24 hours of wax appreciation, and we think we may have just found the best of the bunch.
As the guys at Consequence of Sound point out, there’s a record store that will actually press the song of your choice to vinyl, as well as slapping whatever image you like on top of it.
Andy March, the man behind Monotype Audio Disk Cutting has set up a lathe vinyl cutter in Toronto record shop, Sonic Boom, and for a scant AUD $16.00, will put any sounds you like straight to record.

The 7″ mono discs can hold up to seven minutes worth of your chosen audio per side and after your sounds have been laid to your very own record, you then can select whatever kind of image you desire, creating your very own personalised single.
What makes this even better is the fact that you can record a song live in the store and have that recording immortalised on your own piece of take-home wax, however, if you can’t make it to the store, because y’know, you live in Australia, there’s great news: March takes online orders, too.

To get you a little excited, Monotype Audio Disk Cutting have posted a heart-warming example of this brilliant technology at work, here’s a young girl who sung ‘Happy Birthday’ to her father and drew him a picture – both of which have now been captured forever on a 7″.
