Axl Rose has never been known for his punctuality and Guns N’ Roses have been notorious, particularly in recent years as they effectively became Axl and his hired hands – for cancelling gigs at the last minute. Hence it was little surprise that Axl Rose’s Twitter account announced last night that “All upcoming Guns N’ Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds.”
However, amidst the howls of disbelief from major European festival promoters including the Reading and Leeds Festivals, it turned out that Axl’s Twitter account was apparently hacked, with a stern denial issued on the band’s Facebook page and the band’s promoters issuing a statement saying “Festival Republic are informed by GN’R management that have not cancelled their performances at Reading and Leeds. Axl Rose’s twitter account was hacked into and all claims of dates being cancelled are unfounded.”
