After almost a year of teasing, we finally have new music from indie-rock auteurs Vampire Weekend. It’s been six years since the band released their critically-acclaimed third album Modern Vampires of the City.
The band have released two tracks, ‘Harmony Hall’ and ‘2021’ mark a triumphant return for the band. The former track references the bands 2013 song ‘Finger Back’: “I don’t wanna live like this/But I don’t wanna die.” Ex-Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij contributed to the production of ‘Harmony Hall’ and HAIM’s Danielle Haim is also credited as a contributor. In an interview with NPR, Ezra Koenig revealed that Jenny Lewis’ sings the word ‘boy’ on ‘2021’.
