They’ve barely been around for a year, but fast-rising LA two-piece Moby Rich have announced two headline shows on their debut trip to Australia this May.

Last year, Los Angeles musicians Maxwell Joseph and Connor Pledger came together to release the debut single, ‘Yoko Ono’. Released under the name Moby Rich, the track was an almost instantaneous success, racking up one million Spotify streams in no time.

Soon enough, the duo had drawn the attention of Tap Records (run by Tap Management, the folks behind Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey and Angus & Julia Stone), and they had released their aptly-titled EP, Our First EP.

Drawing comparisons to the likes of MGMT and N.E.R.D., Moby Rich have fast become a viral sensation, with their effortless-sounding music soundtracking summers the world over.

Now, with the pair already heading down to Australia to support New Zealand duo Broods, Moby Rich have decided to make their debut trip to the country extra special, announcing a couple of headline shows while they’re here.

Hitting up Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on May 18th, they’ll be joined by the triple j Unearthed favourite yergurl, whose lo-fi beats and unique pop style have made her a fast favourite of music lovers.

Likewise, the group will appear at The Lansdowne in Sydney on May 29th, with experimental soul and future R&B superstar Hoodlem serving up the support.

Tickets to these headline dates go on sale from 12pm, Friday, March 22nd, with a Live Nation pre-sale on now, and running until 10am on Friday.
