Basically we cannot believe this is finally happening. Rage Against the Machine is reuniting for a string of shows. We just feel sorry for the Machine, who is undeniably going to be raged against.
It’s been almost a full decade since we heard from Rage Against The Machine, their last full-length album being 2000’s Renegades, but now, out of absolutely nowhere, the band have announced their reunion in 2020 for a slew of shows, including a headlining set at next year’s Coachella festival.
According to Consequence Of Sound, an unverified Instagram account announced reunion dates for the band that are solely along the border of Mexico and America. RATM are no strangers to political activism, so you can be sure this has something to do with that. It has since been confirmed with the publication that these dates are legit.
This will be the band’s first show since 2011, however during their absence, many artists have shown the band love and admiration through covers and remixes of their classic hits.
Just this year alone we’ve had two standout covers of their tracks to bang our heads to this year – Denzel Curry’s viral Like A Version of ‘Bulls On Parade’ and RedHook’s cover of ‘Guerrilla Radio’ for the song’s 20th anniversary.
Last year, Coachella was headlined by Tame Impala, Ariana Grande and Childish Gambino. Something tells us that 2020 Coachella, however, is going to be twenty times better.
