Lily Allen is suing the rather grubby and sanctimonious Middle England newspaper the Daily Mail over an article it published in September which featured photos of her home, alleging invasion of privacy for the photos that accompanied it, as well as copyright infringement for use of the images. In a statement, her lawyers said of the writ against the newspaper – often referred to colloquially as the ‘Daily Heil’: “We have today issued proceedings on behalf of Lily Allen against Associated Newspapers [the Daily Mail’s parent company] for copyright infringement and breach of confidence. This action is in relation to an article published in the Mail Online on 14 September 2010.”
Lily Allen has also been cracking it at Daily Mail journalist Katie Nicholl over an article she wrote saying that Allen would be soon getting married to boyfriend Sam Cooper to help her overcome her grief at the recent tragic late term miscarriage she suffered. Allen took to twitter to call Nicholl a “cunt”, who was also a liar. After Nicholl threatened legal action, she took down the tweet, only to replace it with one saying “Katie Nicholl I THINK you’re a cunt, leave me out of your shitty column, you know nothing about the intimate details of my life. There’s a time and a place for your musings where I’m concerned, and it’s not now.”
