Kee’ahn has announced a headline tour with four shows across Australia, alongside the release of her latest single “At Least for Now” off the forthcoming album for me for you x.

Written in the aftermath of heartbreak, “At Least for Now” finds Kee’ahn reflecting on the tension between holding onto love and learning to let go.

“I wrote this one about a breakup. I felt unheard, like the love I had to give wasn’t being received. I wanted to fast forward through the pain and arrive at healing, but it takes time. The love I felt is still strong within me. I just need to honour it in memory, in what I give to others, and in how I nurture myself,” Kee’ahn shared.

The song draws inspiration from Lauryn Hill’s 2022 album MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, which Kee’ahn said helped her through the breakup. It provided a reminder that “I can embody and practice love for myself and be my own peace”, she said.

Kee’ahn experimented with self-production for the first time with this track, recording layered harmonies late at night in her bedroom. To bring the final version to life, she collaborated with Jake Amy on keys, Anthony Liddell on bass and production, Sensible J on drums and percussion, and Elle Shimada on strings.

“Jake’s ability to make things sound magical through their keys playing is something special. Anthony can make any song sound full and hit deep in your heart with his bass and production and Elle’s strings lifted it all. Together they helped shape the story of heartbreak transforming into love for self,” Kee’ahn said.

“At Least for Now” follows Kee’ahn’s vibrant 2023 single “Love You More”, which signalled a shift toward a more groove-driven neo-soul sound, as well as more recent singles “Heavy” and ‘This Is Not the End”.

Kee’ahn, whose name is derived from kee’an, the Wik word meaning to dance and to play, is a proud Yalanji, Jirrbal, and Badulaig artist. Her music is steeped in connection to culture, community, Country, and self.

Her soulful voice and storytelling has had a powerful impact on the Australian music scene, earning her the Archie Roach Foundation Award and Music Victoria’s Best Emerging Artist award.

She has since collaborated with Baker Boy, Emma Donovan, Dallas Woods, and Alice Ivy, and shared stages with the likes of Julia Jacklin, Hiatus Kaiyote, Greentea Peng, and Angie McMahon.
