Teenage Rampage is the debut from Adelaide four piece Dangerous! Scoring a major record deal with Epitaph Records, the band specialise in what could be best described as hard, melodic rock that wouldn’t sound out of place next to a lot of 1980’s metal bands such as Motley Crue or even more recently, Austalia’s own Airbourne.

The twelve tracks on the album, while having strong production values and decent musicianship from the band, strike one as somewhat juvenile and, at times, infantile, especially on a lyrical front. The band are obviously very young;this shows in their recurrent obsession with women to an annoyingly boastful, dick swinging and untimately mysoginistic degree. Song titles such as ‘Big Muff’ and ‘Chasing The Girls’ speak for themselves.

On the plus side, the band so have an agreeably snotty, ‘we want to take over the world’ attitude that shines through to a strong degree on this album. ‘Movers N Shakers’, ‘Poppies’ and ‘Not One Of You’ are some of the stronger tracks on this debut.

Dangerous! do come off as sounding somewhat generic and at times, no more than a pale copy of what has inspired them in the first place. However, only the future can tell where this band goes. Everyone starts somewhere in regards to music. Hopefully, these local boys will mature and grow as artists.
