2012 saw the return of Adam Eaton to Australia joined by members of his Norwegian band and also Australian pedal steel legend Garrett Costigan for the launch of his debut solo EP You and I and Us. With a national tour throughout summer, Adam and his band also played shows at The Sustainable Living Festival in Melbourne; Fuse Festival Adelaide; Tastes of Rutherglen Festival and various gigs in Melbourne and Sydney.

Shortly after releasing You and I and Us in Australia, it was back up to Oslo where Adam was asked to perform two concerts at Musikkfest Oslo along with other successful shows in Norway and Denmark following throughout the European summer.

Whilst back in Norway, Adam began writing for what would become his Debut Album Catastrophes. From working previously with Roger Bergodaz (Tex Perkins, Kim Deal, Jordie Lane), Adam felt confident that he and Shane O’Reilly (Tex Perkins) together would be the perfect choice to produce and record “Catastrophes” which was recorded back in Australia at Tendertrap Studios in Northcote late 2012.

Catastrophes is a collection of eclectic songs, with soft and tender vocals leading into raunchy guitar riffs and lots of sonic surprises. Eaton has seamlessly switched between poignancy, whimsy and melancholia with his debut album a successful introduction to a new voice of this genre. Adam Eaton shows that he has a lot of potential, all wrapped in these 10 songs of bittersweet beauty.

Adam Eaton and his talented band are now ready to bring Catastrophes to the live setting, playing to audiences in two special launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne this July and August respectively.
