Haim put their own updated spin on Adam Sandler’s iconic “Hanukkah Song” and the actor declared his happiness at their version.

The pop trio debuted their cover version of the classic Saturday Night Live song from 1994 on social media on Friday, December 3rd.

They updated the original names featured in the song with current celebrities, including SNL alumni Maya Rudolph and future Willy Wonka Timothée Chalamet. “Doja Cat’s half Jewish, (Timothée) Chalamet’s half, too. Put’ em both together: What a fine-lookin’ Jew!” Este sings.

“Sandler we love you,” they wrote in the post’s caption, and he soon returned the love. “Love you ladies! You are three badass jews! See you on tour!” Sandler said on Twitter.

Other celebrities expressed their delight at Haim’s cover in their Instagram comments, including Rudolph herself. “I’m not crying you’re crying,” she wrote. “Love you forever!!!”

Sandler first performed “The Chanukah Song” on a 1994 episode of SNL, back when he was the Pete Davidson of his day on the sketch show. “When I was a kid, this time of year always made me feel a little left out because in school there were so many Christmas songs and all us Jewish kids had was the song ‘Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel,'” he said before performing the track on Weekend Update.

“Hanukkah is the festival of lights/Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights/But when you feel like the only kid in town without a Christmas tree, here’s a list of people who are Jewish just like you and me,” Sandler sings, before then listing off several iconic Jewish celebrities such as James Caan, Kirk Douglas, Paul Newman, and Goldie Hawn.
