A lucky Arctic Monkeys fan is the latest recipient of the slow drip feed of news revealing when we could be expecting new music from the iconic rock act.

The band’s drummer Matt Helder was spotted in a UK kebab shop, enjoying what the fan describes as “cheesy chips”, sneakily dropping that the band’s upcoming album would be arriving in May. This comes after a fan bumped into Alex Turner at an airport, to who he revealed new music would be coming “soon”.

The band confirmed last September that they were recording new music, with their schedule currently hinting at their return to Australian shores in the form of what will definitely be a massive Splendour In The Grass set.

Back in 2014, the band announced a short hiatus with members pursuing other endeavours in this time with Alex Turner returning to The Last Shadow Puppets to record the group’s first record in eight years, while drummer Matt Helders performing on Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression in 2016.
