While Darwin doesn’t command a reputation as a buzzing hub of live music activity, for one day every year it becomes the one ticket that everyone around the country wants to get their hands on and this year is no different with the announcement of a stacked lineup for BASSINTHEGRASS 2015.
Kicking off the bill are Australia’s premier hip-hop export, Hilltop Hoods, who lead a massive lineup also featuring Perth alt-rockers Birds of Tokyo, electronic duo Flight Facilities, Melbourne rhyme-slinger Illy, and rapidly rising world-beaters Sheppard.
The lineup is rounded out by the likes of soulful Sydney pop rockers The Preatures, Blue Mountains hip-hop crew Thundamentals, Melbourne rockers Kingswood, Australia’s Got Talent phenomenon Taylor Henderson, and the rock-inspired hip-hop stylings of Kid Mac.
BASSINTHEGRASS is presented by the Northern Territory Government in conjunction with the People’s Choice Credit Union. One of Australia’s most unique festivals, it featured souvenir caps in place of tickets and mandatory free water throughout the day.
