Following a huge tour announcement, BOO Seeka have released a fiery new single ‘Millennium Drive’, which premiered on triple j’s Good Nights last week.
‘Millennium Drive’ is the punchy second single from their second album – the follow up to 2017’s hugely successful debut, Never Too Soon. They’ve also added an additional Melbourne show to the tour after the first sold out. Sydney and Brisbane are not far behind.
In celebration, Mikey from the electro hip-hop duo has treated us to a ‘Day In The Life’. In this neat little exclusive, he takes us to BOO’s fave locations in his hometown of Newcastle – and it’s pretty entertaining.
~ A Day In The Life ~
Boo starts his day with a sweep check of the local surf. Growing up on the Coast, Dudley was his main break and has been quoted saying, “They’ll name the left bank after me one day”. Locals still have no idea who he is.
Next stop is for Boo’s morning soy decaf latte from the legends at the Grindhouse in Newcastle West. A mix of clothing, skater lords, amazing staff and a killer cafe, this stop is a daily must.

Once Boo’s soy decaf latte is cool enough for his luscious and readily looked after lips, a stop in to Artdork Studio’s is in order to perch up on the couch and take in some of the coolest art around. Local legend and Newcastle’s best looking skinhead hangs his art in the studio and helps to get the creative juices flowing.
Boo likes to think of himself as quite the cook and specialises in breakfast food. The new Harris Farm Markets on Darby Street is a one stop shop for all his pre-cook up food. Fun fact – Boo loves Olives and buy 4 – 5 containers full a week.
All of life’s great creations happen in the kitchen and Boo’s Honeysuckle apartment is yet to let us down. A mix of Harris Farm veggies, tears from several fans and the hair of 13 sound engineers make for light work in Boo’s kitchen.
The middle of the day sports an inspiration hunt. In the midst of writing Boo Seeka’s 2nd album, Boo is constantly on the hunt for new, fresh and exciting idea’s for music. Abicus helps add to Boo’s extensive record collection and always has new drops weekly.
Still on the Inspo search, Boo regularly drops into the local and historic Cambridge Hotel. Boo Seeka have regular practices, gigs and recording here and is the birthplace of many Boo Seeka songs. Boo also had his first kiss here – The front bar to be exact.
A regular finisher for the day is Mitchy revs porch for beers, banter and a fun propeller into the night. It’s where we’re sitting right now – Boo is shirtless eating fairy bread, Revs is doing bicep curls and pushups at the same time and I’m signing off with a beer.
Happy day in the life of Boo from Mikey!
