American rapper DMX will be released from federal prison tomorrow after serving a year behind bars.

DMX, whose legal name is Earl Simmons, went to jail in January 2018 on a bail violation, after pleading guilty to tax evasion in November 2017. Simmons broke probation after failing to participate in a court-ordered rehab program. He was found using Oxycodone and cocaine. In March 2018, Simmons was sentenced to one year in prison for felony tax evasion.

Vulture has reported that Simmon’s release date is still reported as January 27. Though prison policy reads that “Whenever possible, inmates will be released on the last preceding weekday if their projected release date falls on a weekend or legal holiday.”

Simmons will be under supervised for the next three years.
