Drown This City share visuals for 'In Your Image', Alpha // Survivor EP out today

Melbourne post-hardcore crew Drown This City certainty aren’t fucking around. Hot off the heels of their record deal with UNFD, they’ve dropped their brand new EP Alpha // Survivor, punctuating the release with the visual stimuli for lead track In Your Image.

The band kept things relatively simply for the clip, allowing the track itself, and its staunch message to shine through uninterrupted. Even still, they brought some serious flavour to the performance clip format, inserting some creepy contorting bodies and vocalist Alex Reade exhuming some pure evil, no doubt a nod to one of the singles themes – shedding old and warn beliefs and mentalities.

Bringing home the clip is the greater Alpha // Surviver release, the band’s latest opus and their debut outing since joining the UNFD fam. The EP bears all the hallmarks of a hard-fought effort, something the band isn’t hiding from:

“We’ve been through heart ache, break downs, low moments and the highest of highs and together have only gotten stronger,” Reade explains. “We’ve supported each other to be powerful as well as vulnerable, and through this connection we’ve come out of dark times and rebuilt Drown This City, ready to be released in its new form.

“As a concept, Alpha // Survivor represents the battle between one’s emotions, how we can feel like an empty, emotionless void, but at the same time display absolute strength and power in the toughest of times. It’s the idea of conquering one’s inhibitions in the face of adversity.”

Once fans have some time to get their heads around the EP, the band will be hitting the road to bring it straight to the people for a cheeky run of East Coast dates in cahoots with AM//PM.
