Receiving co-signs and kudos left, right and centre from Australian hip-hop aficionados, Dylan Joel has just unleashed his brand new single Swing (feat. Mantra & DJ Izm).
Enlisting all-star feature performances from ‘your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper’ aka Mantra and DJ Izm of the legendary Bliss n Eso crew, Dylan weaves in-n-out of rapid fire flows over a dusty bass groove, lyrically sparring with Mantra while Izm raises the tempo to push these MC’s past breaking point.
Swing is a unique hip-hop party jam, fusing 1930s big band with massive 90s boom bap drums and tasty scratch breaks from DJ Izm. Although a nod to the past, it’s also a glimpse of the future and a passing of the baton from Mantra and Izm to Aus hip-hop’s next generation.
In the killer video we see sneaky cameos from the entire Bliss n Eso crew, Seth Sentry, Grey Ghost (who also directed the music video) and hip-hop photographer Michelle Grace Hunder.
