SXSW has always been pretty good to Aussie artists. The past few years has seen organisers consistently outdoing themselves by adding a solid contingent of talented Australian acts and they recently continued that trend by adding another 15 Aussies to their 2015 lineup, including Tkay Maidza, Meg Mac, The Delta Riggs, DMA’s, Remi, and more.

In addition to these awesome, highly buzzed-about names, organisers have also added the likes of Peter Bibby, Kirin J Callinan, DCM, Falls, Fraser A. Gorman, The Kite String Tangle, Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders, Bonnie Mercer, Oscar Key Sung, and San Cisco, who join a roster that already featured such acts as Angus & Julia Stone and Twerps.

These homegrown favourites have been added as part of SXSW’s 500-strong third artist announcement, which also features plenty of recognisable international names, including summery rockers Best Coast, Arcade Fire alum Will Butler, pint-sized New York metal outfit Unlocking The Truth, stylish Brits Palma Violets, and many, many more.

While this year’s Australian lineup is certainly impressive, organisers broke a record back in 2014 when they booked 55 acts to play that year’s conference, including future stars like Vance Joy, The Preatures, and Gossling. Meanwhile, past SXSW Aussie success stories include Chet Faker, Big Scary, Flume, San Cisco, The Rubens, and Gold Fields.
