Melbourne’s own Roscoe James Irwin, continues to deliver his own quirky style of folky pop songs and beautiful lyrical storytelling.

The release of ‘Wasted’ in September marked the first of 3 EP’s, with the single ‘One Eye Open’ getting much love on community radio as well as a playlist feature on Triple J’s unearthed and a spin on Home and Hosed.

Now, premiering exclusively on Tone Deaf, Roscoe James Irwin has released his music video for ‘One Eye Open’, the debut music video for the up and coming musician. Directed by James Base (Son of famed Australian authour Graham Base), the idea for the clip was developed on the road, while Roscoe and James were touring the world with The Cat Empire last year.

The clip has Roscoe rocking out with his band, shot at Ben Edgar’s newly finished ‘Pick and Mix’ Studio in the Dandenong’s where Roscoe is currently recording the songs for his next EP offering due out later this year.

2013 was year of firsts for Roscoe James Irwin, The Empress Hotel hosted his first ever Residency, he played St. Kilda Fest and was the closing acoustic act at sunrise for Melbourne’s White Night festival.

Ironically he played his first international show in Victoria, Canada that is. He has lent his hand to string and horn arrangements for albums by Gossling, Vance Joy, Josh Pyke, The Cat Empire and The Bamboos. He toured Australia supporting Vance Joy, and closer to home supported Ruby Boots, Tinpan Orange and Grizzly Jim Lawrie.

This film clip marks the last in a long list of firsts for Roscoe and he achieved all this, and more whilst also completing a 70 date world tour playing horn in The Cat Empire.
