Fiona Apple has shared a touching tribute to the late Mac Miller, who passed away on Friday. Age 26. In the video, Apple goes into detail about the first time she met Miller, as Pitchfork reports.

“I guess I’m just realising how great he was” she continued “I only met him once. It was, like, for a few hours and it was a small group of people but I really really really liked him and I wanted to stay friends with him… I remember that he was talking about how much he loved Jon Brion, I wish I could have made music with him.”

Jon Brion produced Mac Miller’s last released album Swimming.
