In wake of the super-star studded lineup announced for next year’s Future Music Festival, which includes headline performances from The Stone Roses and The Prodigy, organisers have opted to expand the nationwide tour, again targeting the Asian market.

Future Entertainment’s Australian-based touring festival will be heading to Malaysia next year, with electronic music royalty Armin Van Buuren set to headline with his spectacular live show, A State Of Trance.

The predominately dance-focused event will take place at Kuala Lumpur’s Sepang International Circuit, and hopes to attract 40,000 people over the 2 day event, which kicks off on March 15 2013.

According to TheMusic, Future Entertainment’s Australian Director Mark James says: “With us having already announced our line-up in Australia, what I can reveal for now without giving away too much about the rest of the Future Music Festival Asia 2013 lineup, is that it will feature some of the key performers from our festival in Australia. So our fans in this part of the region can expect some really big names.”

The Asian leg of the tour will see some acts overlap with its Australian co-pilot, but most would agree, fans of Korean pop sensation Psy will be out in force to catch a glimpse of the stylish, yet cheesy superstar. The ‘Gangnam Style’ gangster will also be making an appearance at the festival Australia wide next year, no doubt showcasing his zany choreography.

Speaking of Asian pop, although the event will not feature all of those already named for the Australian Future Music Festival, many replacement acts will be announced in coming weeks to refuel the Malaysian lineup.

The festival company has had recent success with its international trial, with encouraging numbers coming after its debut earlier this year. The festival made an appearance in Kuala Lumpur as a part of the 2012 Future Music Festival, which saw the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Tinie Tempah and The Wombats woo 25,000 Malaysian festival fanatics.

The full lineup for this year’s Malaysian leg will be announced Tuesday 6 November. Meanwhile, check out the full lineup and details of Australia’s Future Music Festival 2013 below
