Today we’re heading into the studio with blind Sudanese musician Gordon Koang Duoth and his hand-crafted thom – something akin to a Sudanese banjo – as he records a new track as part of the recent GRID (Grass Roots Indie Development) artist development program that ran earlier this year.

Gordon was one of the diverse range of eight participants selected for the program, which provided emerging artists from Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula with the space and skills to build a sustainable career in the music industry.

It’s well worth a watch as Gordon talks through his music and life, showing off his personal brand of music.
