Should we be expecting a Hasbro musical collaboration between the famous Mr. Monopoly and Dr. Dre?

Hasbro, well known for the iconic Mr. Potato Head, My Little Pony, and Power Rangers series, has now officially bought out Entertainment One, which is the owner of Death Row Records.

Death Row Records is the label that helped launch Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and has now become the music industry enterprise of Mrs. Potato Head.

Just this Thursday, the toy company announced that they will in fact be joining forces with Death Row Records, which is a label that is iconic for its affiliation with West Coast gangster rap, thanks to artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg and Tupac himself. This means the likes of these rappers will now be amongst the home turf of some of our favourite childhood toys and games. Think Mr. Potato Head, Monopoly, G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, Power Rangers and a hell of a lot more.

To be more exact, Hasbro purchased Entertainment One, a multimedia company that owns the children’s franchises Peppa Pig and PJ Masks (one of which has just released a killer new album). Entertainment One also has a music division, which happens to be one of the biggest independent labels in the industry — it took in more than $30 million in revenue in the first quarter of 2019.

“The acquisition of eOne adds beloved story-led global family brands that deliver strong operating returns to Hasbro’s portfolio and provides a pipeline of new brand creation driven by family-oriented storytelling,” Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said.

Ahh yes, we adore the family-oriented storytelling of Snoop Dogg’s classic hit ‘Who Am I? (What’s My Name)’. I wonder if we should expect as Tupac Monopoly in the near future? Perhaps a Dr. Dre transformer figure. The Chronictron? The options are limitless.
