Since the release of their Grammy nominated debut record, Tawk Tomahawk, back in 2012, Hiatus Kaiyote have gone from strength to strength, and the following videos of them slaying it emphatically exemplifies this.

The band appeared on the ever-popular late night television program Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play a total of three, yep, three songs, and boy did they deliver on each one.

Taking tracks from their brand-spankin’ new album, Choose Your Weapon, the four-piece tore through ‘By Fire’ and ‘Breathing Under Water’ as well as older fan-favourite ‘Nakamarra’, electrifying both the live audience and those watching from home, proving yet again why the US love the futuristic soulsters, displaying just how they stormed multiple charts in the giant market.

Since the vids popped-up online, commenters have been unanimous in singing the group’s praises, with one YouTube user writing: “W  O   W They are just wow” another noting how great their recent gig was, “Saw them is Seattle last month. They were absolutely incredible!”

It’s brilliant to see one of our Aussie favourites to be receiving such love as they make huge waves on the international front as opposed to some of the negativity our homegrown artists on the rise have been feeling lately back on Australian soil.

Hiatus Kaiyote have been killing in the US, completely selling out their 21 date tour that includes three sets in New York City as well as festival appearances, and that’s not to mention playing a last minute support slot for Little Dragon and a little artist by the name of Prince rocked up to their gig in his home town.

You can catch Hiatus Kaiyote this August as the band embark on a huge national Aussie tour, with the full dates listed below. To prep you for the greatness to come, enjoy all the action of their Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance right here:
