The Leonard Cohen Australian Tour 2014 has changed dates and venues, with shows for the legendary singer-songwriter undergoing a reshuffle in Melbourne and Sydney.
Promoters Frontier Touring have advised of the changes to the tour, set to kick off in less than two weeks with the opening date at Perth Arena before a string of headline shows around capital cities and A Day On The Green performances.
The biggest change is to the second Sydney Entertainment Centre date, which was added last month, which has now moved to Monday 2nd December and changed venues to the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Meanwhile the additional Melbourne Rod Laver Arena date scheduled for Monday 9th December will now take place at the Palais Theatre on the same date.
Frontier Touring advise that “ticket holders to both shows will be contacted directly regarding their tickets and any action they may need to take.”
Additionally, tickets to both new venues will be available to purchase from Monday 4 November 9am local time.
The Sydney Entertainment Centre and Rod Laver Arena concerts on Saturday 16 November and Wednesday 20 November will both proceed as scheduled.

Joining Leonard Cohen for his Australian Tour will be his incredible nine piece band featuring the likes of Sharon Robinson, the infamous Webb Sisters and musical director Roscoe Beck. These are Cohen’s first performances in Australia since his critically acclaimed 14-date tour in 2009, which included Frontier Touring’s very first performance at the iconic and beautiful Hanging Rock, which were critically acclaimed as the iconic landscape framed Cohen’s emotive croon, as well as earning the Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert.
An artist who requires no introduction, the legendary poet turned songwriter possesses one of the most enviable songbooks in modern music. He’s been inducted into the American Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame where the recently passed Lou Reed said he was “without question one of the most important and influential songwriters of our time, a figure whose body of work achieves greater mystery and depth as time goes on.”
Casting an eye across Cohen’s musical offerings across his decades as a performer, there is no doubt of Reed’s claim. Albums like Songs Of Leonard Cohen (1967), Songs Of Love And Hate(1970) and I’m Your Man (1990), right up to 1992’s The Future, 2001’s Ten New Songs, 2004’sDear Heather and last year’s Old Ideas are rightly considered classics.
Since returning to the stage in 2008 after a 15-year hiatus, Cohen has lost nothing in his years off the road and his shows have quickly been recognised as musical history.
