A sold-out Linkin Park concert helped Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena reach a major new milestone, with the venue revealing it has now sold 15 million tickets since opening in 1999.
The landmark purchase was made by Jarrod Garwood, a 20-year-old engineering student from Sydney, who, at Saturday night’s Linkin Park concert, was surprised with a money-can’t-buy experience to mark the occasion.
“Congratulations to our 15 millionth ticket purchaser,” said Michael Cox, Deputy General Manager of Qudos Bank Arena. “You represent the many millions of people who have come through our doors and helped make our venue what it is. We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you and make your night truly memorable.”
Originally opened in November 1999 as the Sydney SuperDome, Qudos Bank Arena has spent more than two decades hosting global touring artists, major sporting events and large-scale entertainment productions. The venue also played a key role during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, hosting basketball, gymnastics and trampolining competitions.
Today, the arena is owned by Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) and operated by Legends Global, working with partners to deliver large-scale live entertainment events in Sydney.
The venue continues to maintain a strong position globally, recently being voted a Top-5 Live Music Venue in the world for 2025 by Billboard.
In addition to its music programming, Qudos Bank Arena regularly stages major sports events. Most recently, UFC 325 delivered a record-breaking $14.4 million box office, underscoring the arena’s ongoing role in hosting high-profile live sport and entertainment.

According to Legends Global Chairman and CEO Harvey Lister AM, the milestone reflects the venue’s enduring connection with audiences.

“The arena has played host to so many of Sydney’s most memorable entertainment moments over the past 27 years and now regularly ranks in the top 10 in ticket sales for large indoor arenas anywhere in the world.
“With a constant stream of sport, music, comedy and family events, Qudos Bank Arena has become a firm audience, promoter and fan favourite with an incredibly bright future ahead.”
Cox also acknowledged the extensive workforce and partners involved in staging events at the venue.
“Behind every event at our venue is an incredible team. Up to 1,000 people work with us at each event to deliver over 120 performances annually and experiences for audiences,” he said.
“I want to sincerely thank every one of them for the role they play in bringing these events to life. I also want to acknowledge the promoters, hirers and partners who trust us with their shows, and most importantly the people of Sydney and New South Wales whose passion for live performances, sport and family events makes it all possible.”
Cameron Hoy, Chief Operating Officer of Ticketek Entertainment Group, said the milestone highlights the venue’s importance within the global live entertainment sector.
“Qudos Bank Arena is one of the world’s most iconic and visited venues, and the 15 million tickets sold is testament to the important role the arena plays in bringing the very best in live experiences to the people of Sydney,” Hoy said.
