British folk rockers Mumford & Sons have been busy working on their third record Wilder Mind, promising a much different sound to their previous more banjo-inspired efforts of Sigh No More and Babel, and the first release from the forthcoming record certainly exemplifies this sonic change of direction.
‘Believe’ was said to be inspired by some of the band’s favourite artists including Radiohead and Fleetwood Mac, and sees the four-piece leap toward a more electronic generated atmosphere, the soundscape sparkling as the band’s twanging vocals are toned down to a more hushed, pop exhalation as the sprawling electronic guitars take listeners on an almost fuzzy-psych journey.
This first release has got us super amped for the remainder of Wilder Mind, the 12-track LP due to hit shelves on May 4 of this year.
