Canadian indie-rocker Mac DeMarco is set to return to Aussie shores next year, announcing a run of headline dates for January.

It feels like only yesterday that Mac DeMarco was last in Australia, having performed as part of the 2018 Laneway Festival just last year.

While that appearance was in support of his then-recent This Old Dog record, Mac’s been hard at work in the studio since then, releasing his latest album, Here Comes The Cowboy earlier this year.

As it turns out though, Here Comes The Cowboy was met with a bit of confusion from fans of Mitski, who accused the Canadian musician of not only ripping off the title to Mitski’s Be The Cowboy, but also the title of the record’s lead single, which was also titled ‘Nobody’.

Thankfully, it seems as though it was all a bit of coincidental fun, but now Mac DeMarco has set his sights on something much more important, and that’s his return to Australian shores.

Kicking off at Sydney’s Horden Pavilion in January, DeMarco and his band will hit up Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth along the way, delivering his unique brand of chilled-out indie-rock tracks at every show.

Joining Mac DeMarco on this tour will be Aussie legends Pond, while CHAI will hold down the East Coast dates, and Cold Meat will tackle the closing Perth date.

Tickets to these shows go on sale from 1pm on Thursday, August 1st, so don’t miss your chance to catch one of the most prominent names in indie-rock when he makes his highly-anticipated return to our shores early next year.
