Melbourne Zoo Twilights are undoubtedly one of the most family-friendly series of concerts that you’ll see. With a relaxed atmosphere, and big-name acts performing within the picturesque Melbourne Zoo, it’s no wonder that these annual summer concerts sell out quickly. Now, excitement levels are on the rise as the yearly concert series has now announced the first act to grace the stage in 2018.
Following an absolutely banner year in 2017, which saw the likes of Jet, Killing Heidi, Paul Dempsey, Teenage Fanclub, and Kurt Vile take the stage, fans have been eagerly awaiting an announcement as to which acts will be on offer when the summer months roll around.
Today, Melbourne Zoo Twilights have announced that the one and only Ben Folds will be making a stop by the Victorian capital to get to know a few animals, before playing a typically brilliant show, which will see him supported by Lucy Rose.
Already in the country for his ‘Paper Aeroplane Request’ tour, which will see him dedicate a portion of the show to taking requests from fans, Ben Folds has today added a second show in Brisbane, in addition to announcing that mysteriously absent Melbourne show. The former Adelaide-dweller has also announced a number of extra shows in recent weeks, beefing up the tour rather considerably.
The rest of the Melbourne Zoo Twilights lineup is set to drop on October 18th, at 8am, with tickets going on sale at the same time on October 24th, so we’ll have to hang tight for a little while to see what else they have up their sleeves.
